A HELPER ALWAYS!

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—

John 14:16 NKJV

The Holy Spirit of God will never leave us. He's with you and in you always. He's our helper; of the same kind as Jesus is. That's why we are one with Him. We are of one kind. He's the Lord in us, Christ in you. The Holy Spirit is our helper. The word "helper" actually means more than just a helper.

He's a helper, but that's not the totality. He's also an advocate. Like a defence lawyer, who is close enough to the situation to give the proper defence for you. Just like when Jesus was asked why His disciples weren't fasting, meanwhile the disciples of John the Baptist were fasting. And Jesus said, why would they fast, when they have the bridegroom with them. That's an advocate at work.

Close enough to the situation to give the right defence. When we abide in the Holy Spirit in us, we cannot be hit by the accusations of the devil, because He's our defence. Also it means advisor. Like a counselor that advises the client on how best to behave, how best to do things. He's our teacher, our advisor. So He doesn't just leave us in the wrong. No.

He teaches us how to do it right, without letting us fall short in condemnation. He's definitely the best there could ever be, for all He does. Then of course He's our helper. So He helps us understand the Father, by revealing to us, and helping us understand the word of God. And when He teaches us something, He helps us learn to practice it correctly, until we get perfected at it. Glory to God!

Affirmation: The Holy Spirit in me is Christ in me. He is my helper, my guide, my advocate. He lives in me always, I am never alone. He reveals to me the word of God, Jesus Christ, helps me remain ever conscious of Christ's presence in my life. Thank you dear Lord, for your wonderful work in me.
