DON'T LOSE WHAT YOU HAVE THROUGH DOUBT
And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Matthew 14:31 NKJV
As you grow in spiritual understanding, you understand more perfectly that all we have, and all we experience is a result of the active faith of God at work in us. When Jesus walked on water, Peter and the other disciples saw Him. On Peter's request, Jesus asked Peter to come and join Him, walking on water.
The words of the master which Peter heard inspired faith in Him, as he believed it was Jesus, and so he stepped into the sea and actually walked on it. He had received the divine ability to walk in water. But then, the winds came, the storms ragged, and he took his eyes off Jesus, and was filled with fear from the storm
It was at that point he started to sink. Only after he feared. And crying out to Jesus, the master grabbed him by the hand and asked, why did you doubt? Peter didn't sink until he doubted the power of Jesus. He lost the divine ability to walk on water, because of doubt. And this is what the storms of life want to do to you.
Romans 4:20 instructs us not to doubt the promise of God through unbelief, but to be strengthened in faith, giving glory to God. Don't trust the power of the storm more than you trust the power of God. It doesn't matter how boisterous the storm is. If Jesus has bid you "come ", you'll walk on it!
Affirmation: I refuse to fear! I refuse to doubt! I trust the power of God more than the storm! And in the name of Jesus Christ I am victorious! Though I go through the water it will not drown me, and through the fire, it will not burn me, for I go and move in Christ, in whom I have my being! Glory to God!
