THE ENEMY'S SEARCH

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:8 NLT

From our theme verse, it's easy to understand that the enemy does not just attack anyone randomly. The scriptures say be prowls around like a lion, in search of someone to devour. He doesn't just attack randomly.

He's a careful enemy, and he has a search. So what is his search? What makes a person fit to be devoured? 2 Corinthians 2:11 says we should be careful to forgive, so that Satan doesn't take advantage of us, because we are not ignorant of his devices.

You see, he's searching for those who are ignorant of his devices. He's searching for those who have lost their spiritual awareness and alertness. Those are the ones he can devour. The ones who are distracted already.

He's hoping to cash in on the distraction of people. Because then they are ignorant and spiritually insensitive. Don't get distracted from Christ. There are many things that will seek your attention, but you must keep your focus. Make God and His word priority, and every other thing will fall into place. Glory to God.

Affirmation: I refuse to be distracted from Christ. I refuse to be ignorant of the devices of the enemy. Through the Holy Spirit, and the word of God at work in me, I remain spiritually alert and active. I resist the devil and He flees from me, in Jesus mighty name. Amen
