OBEDIENCE, THE PROOF OF LOVE
But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him.
1 John 2:5 NLT
The proof of love for God is in obedience to His word. It's easy to say you love God, but how much do you agree with His word. Are you the person who agrees with what the word of God says, and chooses to live accordingly? Or do you prefer to go with your own ideas.
Many people claim to love God, yet, when they see something in the scripture that contradicts the way they live, they are unwilling to accept it and adjust their lives. Some are unwilling to forgive, even though they know God has asked them to forgive.
And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. (1 John 2:3 NLT). This is what real growth is. Growth isn't just increase in age, or body stature. It's not even merely increase in resources and materials. True spiritual growth is in the quickness of your positive response to God's word.
Don't be the one who lives disobediently. There's no gain in being unyeilding to the Holy Spirit. Choose to obey His voice. His word, His leading and promptings to you. In obedience to God, you find peace, joy and satisfaction. Glory to God!
Prayer: I thank you dear Father, for making me your obedient child. Help me Lord to remain ever yielded to the Holy Spirit. I choose to obey your word, and leading to me. In Jesus name. Amen
