THE CONFIRMATION OF SONSHIP
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
Galatians 4:6 NKJV
Often we get questions like, how do we know if someone is born again, or how do I really know I'm saved? Is there a sign? Is there an evidence? Well the answer is yes.
When a person gets born again, he or she may look just the same way they looked before getting born again.
The truth also is that their character might not change immediately they get born again. This is because character change very often requires the renewal of the mind, which is a journey the Holy Spirit and the word of God helps you embark on through consistent meditation on the word. So judging a person as born again or not, based on their immediate character might be a wrong judgement.
What then becomes evidence of being in Christ? Your evidence is a person, The Holy Spirit in you. He has changed your heart. The Bible describes Him as the seal of your salvation. (Ephesians 1:14). You might say, but I don't feel Him, I don't see Him, but I still have the same desires. Remember He is the Spirit of faith. He is received by faith, faith in Jesus Christ.
Don't allow your senses to lead you. Walk by faith and not by sight. He is the confirmation of your sonship in Christ Jesus. You don't need to see Him. Simply believe the word, that He's in you, because you have believed in Jesus and confessed Christ as Lord. He will transform your life. (Romans 8:9, 10:9,10).
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for your Holy Spirit in me. I thank you because you have chosen to live in me as your home. Help me Lord to follow you always. To continue walking by faith in you. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
