NOT SELF CENTERED
fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

An important characteristic of love is that love is not self centered. Love thinks a lot about other people than it thinks about itself. And love thinks about other people with the best possible thoughts concerning them. That's so important.
You see we are creatures of love, because God is love. And His love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, Christ in us (Romans 5:5). As we get filled with the Spirit and His love more and more, we learn to live a selfless life. A life where we don't consider ourselves as the main object of focus.
What then becomes the object of focus? Christ, His assignment for us, and the people who should be beneficiaries of the fruit of that assignment. Those in our immediate environment should be the first partakers. This is why we ought to learn to treat people with love.
Learn to think about people and consider them. Don't be self centered. That's not the character of Christ in you, so you ought to unlearn it. Examine yourself, and see if you think much about others, and if you think the best thoughts towards them. Make the decision to let love lead.
Affirmation: I am a creature of love. The love of Christ resides in my heart. This same love directs my life, shapes my character, my thoughts and my responses to people and Life. Love leads me. In Jesus name. Amen.
