UNDERSTAND THE COMMUNION

For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 1 Corinthians 11:29 NIV

It's very important that we understand a thing before we get involved in it. Otherwise, going into something without proper understanding, can affect the results we get from it. Partaking in the Holy communion is an ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ Himself.

He asked us to partake in it continually in remembrance of Him. (Luke 22:19). There's no age limit to this ordinance. There's no discrimination as to who should or who shouldn't participate in the Holy communion. The communion is for everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as the son of God and as Lord of his life.

But it's important to understand the communion for what it is, and not what it looks like. The communion isn't bread and wine. When the bread and wine are blessed in the name of the Lord Jesus, they are the body and blood of Christ.

This understanding, and reverence to Christ is very important. You're not just taking any humanly served food. You're actually declaring your union with the Lord as his body was broken for you and his blood poured out for you. It's an affirmation, of all his death and resurrection represents. It's a testimony of your union with Him. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for choosing to die for me, and the whole world. I thank you for pouring out your blood, and letting your body get bruised for me. Thank you Lord for giving your life for me. Thank you for giving me that same life to live. I love you Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.
