WAY MORE THAN THESE
“The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.””
John 4:15 NKJV
After Jesus explained to the Samaritan woman that the water He had to offer was living water leading to eternal life, she asked him to give her this water, so she wouldn't be thirsty or have to come to the well to fetch water.
You see, this woman still had her eyes on the satisfaction that physical water brings. She didn't yet understand that Jesus spoke of something eternal. This is same way many people come to Jesus with their eyes on material satisfaction and monetary things.
But you see, Jesus brings to us way more than those. Yes, He gives us the power and ideas to make wealth, but he brings to us way more than that. He essentially brings to us the satisfaction for the Soul.
The life we so desperately needed. He brings us out of the misery of darkness, and brings us into His life and spiritual bounty. True satisfaction starts when we realise that what we need isn't just material. Jesus brings to us eternal life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the gift of eternal life which you have given to me. Help me to know continually that what I need and what I've got in you is way beyond materials. Thank you Lord for the satisfaction of my soul in Jesus name. Amen
