THE GIFT OF GOD
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10 NKJV
You see, God had a gift for the whole world. Something He truly wanted everyone to have. Jesus talked about this gift in His conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus came to this world bearing God's gift for us.
Not anyone except the Son of God could bring this gift to us. It was no small gift. This gift is what Jesus referred to as living water. That is the life that God came to give to us. This gift of God is God Himself!
Without this gift, no one would be justified before God. Without this gift, no one would live above the power of death. This gift of God, the living water, is actually Christ, God Himself who lives in us by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus succeeded in delivering His gift. But like every other gift, you've got to receive it. This is life indeed. Have you received this gift, (God's life) to you? Tomorrow isn't guaranteed. The time is now!
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of life you sent to me through your Son Jesus Christ, who came to this world and died for me. I believe He is risen, and I submit to Him as Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into me today. I receive your Spirit into me. Thank you Lord I'm born again. In Jesus name. Amen.
