THE FOUNDATION MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: Luke 6:47
Jesus told a story, to illustrate to us, what it is like to be a doer of the word of God, and what the implications are in our life. So for the man who hears the word and does it, He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. (Luke 6:48)
You see, the doing of the word is likened to building ones house on a solid foundation. That is the Rock. Then the second example of course is for the man who hears the word and doesn't do it.
But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:49. You see everyone is building. Both the doer and the non doer of the Word.
And the flood and stream will come to test everyone's building. But the foundation upon which the building (your life) is founded will determine whether it will fall. That foundation is to believe and practice the Word of Jesus Christ.
Affirmation: I refuse to ignore or doubt God's word. I chose to believe, and I chose to do. My life is built on the solid Rock, as I continue to practice the word of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. I will not fall. Glory to God in Jesus name. Amen
