FOR FAITH, YOU NEED THE WORD
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Do you know that faith is a spiritual thing? Faith is to believe, agree with, and walk in the word of God. But this is not merely an emotional or psychological exercise. It's truly spiritual. It's way more than just a decision. It starts with a decision, but it spans beyond a decision.
When people worry, though they want to stop worrying, they can't just stop worrying by saying they've decided to stop worrying. The decision is a good start, but if that's all they do, they would most probably still worry.
This is because even worry is spiritual. To actually change your mind from such directions of doubt, worry, fear, hate and such likes, you must get the word of God into you. It starts with the decision, but spans beyond the decision.
It's an outworking of the word of God from within you. Did you not read that we have the same Spirit of faith (2 Corinth. 4:13). That tells you that faith is spiritual, streaming from the Spirit. Worry, doubt, fear, hate and such likes are also spiritual. Therefore for faith, you need the Word of God.
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for the beautiful gift of your word brought to us in the person of your Son Jesus Christ. I thank you Lord for the precious Holy Spirit, your presence in us. And by the same Spirit, and by your word, I walk by faith, in Jesus name. Amen.
