THE SELFISH PRAYER LIFE.
“Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecrated people).” Ephesians 6:18 AMPC
In the life of a lot of Christians, the bulk of their prayers are only for themselves. Protection for themselves, provision for themselves, just like that. At best, they might add their family members and that's it.
This kind of prayer life is selfish, lacking highly in love, and that's why it does not avail much. Do you know you receive more and achieve more when you pray for others out of love?
This is because the Spirit of God will not leave you lacking in that thing for which you're interceding for others. If you're a source of blessing to others, you have to be in abundance. This is a spiritual principle, and it's real.
Learn to pray unselfishly. Learn to pray for others. Love people and pray for them. That way your own life will be full of the results of the prayers you make for others too. You're blessed. TCF
