ARTICLE UPDATE: HAS CHRIST EVER CONDEMN POLYGAMY?

When I first saw this question, I immediately knew that it was indeed going to be a ride.

I kept wondering if it was worth it to dwell on subject matter like this but after a brief research, I concluded that many out there need this if not for anything but for the fact that many devourers are out there seeking for those who are with shallow convictions that they may trample upon them.

Curiosity, Intention, desire, ignorance, misinformation among others factors are some of the things that brood questions as this upon the hearts of men.

Knowledge is better than curiosity that keeps tarrying. Hence, the reason why we need to patiently look into this.

Before we proceed, a question for you; Has polygamy done more good than harm to our society? A practical example to look into.  Ponder!

As humans, gregarious nature is innate, yet there are limits to be set so that this gregarious nature does not lead us into detrimental aftermath.

Based on personal study, Strive and Competition becomes the order of the day in most polygamous homes.

These two most times birth forth Jealousy, hatred and Envy. Isn't it enough reason why Polygamy should not become part of our intentions?

Someone might want to justify the path of polygamy using different biblical characters who practised polygamy but wait, does that obliterate the fact that polygamy was never in God's intention for mankind?

Let us have a look at some scriptures.

Genesis 2:24 ~Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

It was so evident here that it was wife, not wives; to those having the intention of going into polygamy.

It was husband, not husbands; to those looking forward to threading the path of polyandry.

It was a man to a woman not to an animal; unto those engaging bestiality.

In the beginning, there was nothing like Man to women, Woman to woman, Man to Man, Man to an animal and Woman to men so why should there be actions and volition that contradict this original plan of God?

The third-party system of Marriage has never been in God's plan for man and it still holds to date.

Jesus in his precept to the Pharisees in Mark 10 said "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Mark 10:6-9

From this precept, it was crystal clear that Jesus Christ in his word didn't say "Do not marry two wives" but the emphasis on "Two" becoming one flesh, we should not ignore.

We see that from this precept, Jesus make reference to the beginning and that should be what our life journey including marital should be channelled to.

God created them male and female.

God giving only one female to Adam was never a mistake. It was just God perfect will for him; to mankind.

The fall of man has indeed paved the way to many things that contradict God's original intention but we have no excuse for engaging or intending to engage in those things, most especially unto those that have known Christ and his works for humanity.

The fact that Jesus said "wife" in the Mark 10 we read should not be ignored.

The beginning part has always been one man to one woman.

Even one man to one woman is a great work, how much more one man to more than a woman? Think about this.

No one should be deceived with the biblical characters that got married to more than one woman, if any of them have gotten another fresh opportunity to start a new life, I believe that polygamous part of their previous life would they completely thrash out from the new life offered to them.

All should be patterned as it is from Christ unto the Church.

Life is already loaded with its troubles, to avoid arguments that don't worth our time and help our convictions is the need for this write-up.

Let us take note!
