Article: The Urgency Of Salvation by Victoria

First we’ll talk about salvation, then we’ll look into it’s urgency that is why salvation is so urgent.

Salvation entails the deliverance of a soul from sin and it’s consequences. How is it achieved?

There’s only one way, only one answer, only one person and that person is Jesus. How?

John 14:6 “Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life, no one cometh unto the father but by me.” In other words, no one can get into heaven except by/with me(Jesus), and where is the father? He is in heaven.. so how can we get into heaven without Jesus??

Jesus introduces to us a new covenant like I said in my previous article “The Personhood Of Jesus”.. He made it easier for us to be with the father, for us to be saved.

How can we be saved?

Paul tells us in Romans 10:8-10 “the word is near you(Remember that the word is Jesus Christ); it is in your mouth and in your heart.. that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” It is just that simple. In this present world, a lot of Christians confess that Jesus is their Lord and personal savior, but yet their hearts are still far from God. This walk with Jesus is not a physical one but a spiritual one in the sense that we cannot do it on our own.. that is why we need the help of the Holy Spirit ( my previous article ‘The person of the Holy Spirit‘ tells us how he helps us walk with Jesus)

Now we talk about the urgency of salvation..

Urgency is defined as the importance requiring swift action. In other words, salvation is so important that it needs to happen now!! Today!! Not tomorrow. Why?

2 Corinthians 6:2 says “He says.. in the time of my favor I heard you and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”  It is not news that our king is coming back. The Bible emphasizes on the now, the today; making it known to us that today, now is the time to get right with God.

Psalm 95:7 “For he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice.. do not harden your hearts.” Today is mentioned again, telling us that the Holy Spirit is working, he is ministering to our spirits telling us of what is to come. Because God loves us so much.. he doesn’t want any of us to go to hell, it pains his heart that we are going to the path of destruction.

The day of our King’s return is fast approaching. The Holy Spirit testifies about this. Revelation 22:17 “The spirit and the bride say come and let him who hears say come! Whoever is thirsty let him come and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Vs 20 says He who testifies to these things says yes I am coming soon. Amen, come Lord Jesus!!”

Jesus is salvation!!!

     Consequence of rejecting salvation:

It is very simple.. Matt 10:33 “But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my father in heaven.”: This needs no explanation, how painful it will be for you to appear before God and Jesus says he doesn’t know you and you will be sent to the place of eternal suffering.

Isaiah 13:9: For see the day of the lord is coming; the terrible day of his fury and fierce anger, the land will be made desolate and sinners destroyed with it” On that day, God’s anger will be poured on all the people that refused to accept his son . Anyone who refuses to accept Jesus is against him and seen as God’s enemy on that faithful day of our King’s return. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31) He will avenge his son!!! For he said vengeance is his and he will recompense and also judge the people.

Benefit: Also very simple

2 Timothy 4:8 “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

So understandable.. He gives you your crown and you get to spend eternity with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit with the host of angels praising God in his majesty and glory.

Jesus loves us so much and all he wants is for you to draw near to him and accept him into your life and heart. He wants to give you the crown of glory on that last day and he wants you to stay with him forever in the new world he has for us. I pray the Holy Spirit through this message gives you understanding and longing in your soul for Jesus.

Jesus is salvation. Draw near to him while he may be found now.

God bless you🤗
