God Began To Raise Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa From The Late 60's Into The Late 70's. He Was A Young Man, A Member Of The Assemblies Of God Church. There Was A Revival That Came Into The Country Through The Assemblies Of God Church And Blew Around Eastern Nigeria In The 50's And 60's. Idahosa Was A Benin Man, He Got Born Again In The Church And Fellowshipped There. He Was Also Working With "Bata Company" In Benin City And Then God's Hand Began To Come Upon Him In A Remarkable Way Because He Was Such A Prayer Man.
He Was An Unconventional Man, He Was'nt A Very Religious Person. He Was A Man That Loved To Increase And Prosper.
One Day, He Bought A Motorbike, His Pastor Excommunicated Him For Being Worldly, Every Church Member Was To Ride A Bicycle.
The Same Pastor That Excommunicated Him For Owning A Bike, A Day Came His Wife Got Pregnant And Was About To Deliver And There Was No One To Take Her To The Hospital, So He Came To Borrow The Motorbike - How Does God Vindicate The Righteous!
That Was How He Got Recounciled.
A Day Came The Pastor Was Preaching "All Things Are Possible To Him That Believe" He Was Preaching All The Faiths Scriptures, Preaching And Screaming! While He Was Still Preaching, Benson Idahosa Walked Up To Him And Said "This Thing That You're Saying, If It Is True That Is, It Is Even Possible To Raise The Dead." The Pastor Said "Yes. I've Never Done It But If The Bible Said It Then It Is True." Idahosa Said "Okay, I'm Going To Look For One." That Day, He Rode His Bike All Over Benin City Looking For A Dead Person, Somewhere Around 4:30pm He Saw A Crowd Of People And They Said "A Girl Just Died." Benson Said "Praise God!." He Asked To Pray For Her, They Led Him To The Room The Girl Was, He Prayed For Her And She Came Back To Life. That Was The Begining Of One Of The Mightiest Ministry This Nation Has Ever Seen.
He Started A Fellowship That Grew To About 500 After Some Years, Then God Sent Him To Meet With A Missionary In Ilesha, Pa Elton. It Was Pa Elton That Arranged For Him To Be Trained. Pa Elton Told Him That "The Grace Of God Is Upon Your Life, Young Man But You Need Training So That You Can Have The Word Of God And Last."
Pa Elton Arranged For Him To Go To Gordon's Linsay's Bible School In The United State Of America. Idahosa Travelled To Christ For All Nations At It's Very Inception. He Was Among The First Generation Of Students. Idahosa Never Completed The Bible School Tho, He Just Kept Praying And Fasting Because He Had Such Passion For Africa. The Bible School Was Supoosed To Last For Two Years But After One Year He Came To Gordon Linsay And Said "Why Should I Be Seating In A Classroom When Africans Are Dying, Release Me Let Me Go." So, They Had A Private Consecration Meeting For Him And He Was The Only Student That Actually Saw Gordon Linsey Release Him, Because Before The Others Graduated Gordons Linsey Had Died.
He Came Back To Benin City With A Multiplied Annointing. It Was Reported That Does Who Came To Welcome Him At The Airport Couldn't Touch Him, Everybody That Stepped 20yards Near Him Fell Under Power And It Was Wild Fire From That Time.
His Way Of Doing Ministry And Spreading His Church Was Very Raw! He Was Another Very Forceful Personality.
In Those Days With The Miracle Power Of God, He Will Go Into Little Villages And Towns, He Will Go Looking For The Blind, The Crippled And Even The Dead. . He Would Put Two Drums And A Plank In A Place, He Would Hold You Like He's Trying To Give You Something, He Will Pull You To Where The Plank And The Two Drums Are And He Will Heal You. That Was His Platform.. And He Will Heal You Instantly! Open The Blind Eyes And Raise The Dead. A Crowd Would Gather, He Will Climb The Drums And Preach The Gospel And People Will Come To Jesus And Immediately A Church Will Start.
He Was A Man That Believed In Prosperity And God Blessed Him Massively. He Was The First Of Many Things Nigeria. He Was The First Assemblies Of God Man To Own A Motorbike. He Was The First Nigerian Minister To Own A Mercedes Benz Car, For Which He Was Criticised And Called A Theif..
Now, A Pastor Can Buy A Plane And Everybody Is Happy.. In Those Days You'll Be Called A Devil For Attempting To Prosper.
He Made It Popular To Preach In Babariga Clothes. In His Days Every Evangelist Wanted To Wear Babariga To Preach.
He Was The First Nigerian Minister To Preach On Radio, The First To Preach On A Television, The First To Own Mass Crusade Equipments And Move From City To City In Africa And Even Abroad Doing Meetings.
During His Lifetime, He Ministered In Over 130 Countries. Many Of Those Meetings Are Not Invitational, He Went To Nations With His Own Money And Arrested Nations With The Power Of God.
When It Comes To Signs And Wonders, Pentecostal Signs And Wonders, Particularly The Gift Of Working Of Miracles, Idahosa Was A god At It. A Boy Fell From A Three Story Building And Broke His Skull, His Skull Was Cracked, His Brain Was Pouring Out And They Called For Him, He Gathered The Brain And The Skull And Began To Pray In Tongues And The Brain And Skull Joined Back, The Boy Didn't Need A Hospital.
One Time The World Council Of Witches Had Their Headquarters In Benin City And There Was A Very Vocal Witch, Who Was Always Boasting That He Was A Witch, That He Was The Head Of All Witches. Then He Announced That There Was Going To Be An International Meeting Of Witches In Benin City, Then Archbishop Idahosa Was Already On Television, So, He Went To His Own TV Programme And Said "You Have Heard That Witches Are Coming To Do Their Meetings In Benin City, He Said They Will Not Come, I Cancel That Meeting!" So, They Went To The Witch And Said "This Is What Benson Idahosa Said, What Do You Have To Say?" The Man Laughed And Said "Even If Jesus Christ Comes Down, He Cannot Stop Us!"
So, Idahosa Went Back On Air And Said "Jesus Does Not Need To Come Down To Stop This Meeting, That's Why I Am Here!"
They Now Called Them On Set Together, NTA, Benin City, Panel Discussion. The Witch Said "The Meeting Will Hold" Idahosa Said Otherwise. Benson Idahosa Now Turned And Said "To Be Honest With You, There Are No Witches In Benin City, The Ones That Are Witches Had Ran Away, Even This Man Is Not A Witch" And He Looked At The Man And Said "The Bible Said, Thou Shall Not Suffer A Witch To Live, If You're A Witch Confess It Right Now And I'll Kill You Right Now" The Man Shakingly Said "I Am Not A Witch!"

One Time, He Had Guests In The 80's And They Needed To Travel And The Aircraft Was About To Take Off From Benin City, He Ran To The Tarmac Because His Guests Had No Tickets And Waved The Aircraft To Stop, They Stopped And Opened The Door, He Entered And Said "I Have Two Guests, I Want Some Of You Passengers To Come Down For My Guest To Travel" And Some Passengers Offered Their Seats To Him. . That Was The Kind Of Persons He Was.
He Was A Very Unusual Man. He Brought Glory, Honour And Attention To That City! People Used To Travel All Over The World To Benin City, Benin Was The Headquarters Of The Gospel In Africa. In The Days Of Benson Idahosa, Lagos Was Larger But More People Came To Benin City Because Of A Man's Grace.
