TRUST IN MEN?
Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. Jeremiah 17:5-6
Our theme verse describes the condition of a person who looks up to people primarily for help, our trusts in physical capabilities as his means of help. Trusting in men instead of God means limiting the scope of your vision for success, from the infinite capabilities of God to the extent of the ability and willingness of the man being trusted in.
That’s a very unreliable way to live. This kind of existence has contributed deeply to the disappointment some Christians have encountered because they trusted in men. So when help has been orchestrated to come from an unexpected source such a man cannot recognize the help.
Because he has already limited his vision by trusting in men or physical strength, instead of trusting in the person, power, and word of God. It’s very easy to lose sight of God in life situations and start looking carnally, because this world is orchestrated to function by carnal understanding.
But it is also very easy to remain focused on Jesus in every area of life, because we have the same spirit of faith. Therefore choose your easy. Follow the word. Fellowship with the Spirit. Surround yourself with believers who believe indeed. Choose to focus on Christ and you'll overcome. You’re blessed. TCF.
