THERE'S PEACE IN OBEDIENCE
Isaiah 48:18
Oh, that you had heeded My commandments!
Then your peace would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
If you ever disobeyed God's Word, the first thing you loose is your peace from within. Your spirit becomes restless, because you are fashioned to function in a state of obedience. Therefore by disobedience, you are living in a way that is contrary to your natural state in Christ, and thus you are highly disturbed within you.
The easiest way to keep and protect your peace is to live in obedience to God's Word. If you heed His commandments, your peace would be like a river. Many people lack the peace of God within them simply because they often live in disobedience to the Word.
Now they may not know that that's the reason they are never at peace, and so they live continually in restlessness. This is a very pathetic way to live, because a man without peace is like a man experiencing hell on earth.
Don't be like that. What would it cost you to live in obedience? Nothing but a choice to do so. Simply because Christ already made you perfectly fit to obey. Don't be deceived. It's not a struggle to live obediently. It's what you are fashioned for, so it's natural to you. Keep your peace, live in obedience. You're blessed. -TCF
