Acts 28:18

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. (Still see 1 John 1:9)

Like we said yesterday, God doesn't have a problem forgiving you, so long as you are sorry and acknowledge that wrong to Him. This is irrespective of how deep your sin was. So long as you didn't denounce Christ, He considers you His own. The problem most times is that people don't receive forgiveness. How do you receive forgiveness? Simply by believing that you are forgiven.

Many people reduce God by thinking that He thinks like a man. So they assume that just as you would need to plead and plead and appease a human for sometime before he finally forgives, and let's go a wrong, so it is with God. Thinking about God this way, is an insult to His personality. He is God, He isn't that way at all.

He assured you of forgiveness, your duty is to receive it by believing you are forgiven. Many people pick up a fast after they sin, not because they want to build their maturity, but because they think they aren't forgiven yet, and need to fast a bit to be forgiven. That fast was done as a result of faithlessness, and so the driving force itself is sinful! We must learn to take God by His Word.

Refuse to be guilt bound. Choose to receive your freedom in Christ Jesus. That's what He died for. Acknowledge the wrong and apologise and you are forgiven. Receive it by believing it, and thanking Him for it. The more you remain guilt bound, you're slowing down your spiritual growth. Don't do that. Believe you are free because you are! Refuse to let any devil deceive you. Receive your forgiveness today! Remain on the Word and in prayers. You're blessed. -TCF
