CHURCH GIST: IN WORSHIP YOU TELL GOD WHO HE IS, BUT IN PRAISE, YOU TELL GOD WHO YOU THINK HE IS _APST SAM

IN WORSHIP YOU TELL GOD WHO HE ALREADY KNOWS HE IS. BUT IN PRAISE, YOU TELL GOD WHO YOU THINK HE IS.

Matthew 15: 11-19
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a certain village, there met ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? They are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faithfulness hath made thee whole.

When God does a miracle for you, He expects you to come back thanking Him. This is because thanksgiving completes the cycle for every miracle.

There are two levels of every miracle:

1) The Eradication Level, where you are cleansed.

2) The Redemption Level where you are made whole. When God restores all that has been stolen from you.

The loud cry of the lepers signified how intensive their problem was and how far they were from the solution (Jesus). When Jesus gave the Word, the lepers acted by faith immediately, heading towards the priest to present themselves. But when they were healed, only one who was considered a stranger came back in thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving has an attitude. Gratitude is not only in relation to money and items. You must learn to thank God with the same intensity with which you made the request known to God. This one Leper had the Spirit of Gratitude.

How To Give Thanks
Proverbs 3:9-10
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Before substance is honour. If substance is not packaged in the envelope of honour it is not acceptable to God (honour approves). Honour means to offer something significant and glorious.
In thanksgiving, you are encouraged to do anything that communicates your honour to God. Thanksgiving that is born out of a place of conviction will communicate honour. As a Christian, it is your convictions that completes your Christian actions.

1) The Prayer of Thanksgiving
When you appear before God for the sole reason of thanking Him. There is no supplication, no request, no petition or plea in this prayer. In Thanksgiving you nullify every challenge.
There are two greatest blessings in life; your life and your freedom. As long as you are alive anything can happen.

2) The Praise of Thanksgiving
God feeds on the praises of His people. In worship you tell God who He already knows He is. But in praise, you tell God who you think He is.

3) The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving:
Your giving is more important to you than it is to God.
