HEARING GOD'S VOICE
John 15:13
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.
Like we said yesterday, hearing God's voice is not necessarily hearing an audible voice in your ears, no. It's simply receiving a revelation or communication from God to you. Jesus said, when the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. That's the assurance, that He will guide you into all truth. But the "how" is not specific.
Jesus never specified how the Holy Spirit will do His ministry of guiding you into all truth. So when it comes to the how, it can be anyhow, as chosen by God. He is the boss. Your duty is to be open minded with Him. Don't limit His pattern of communication to a particular way. He is beyond what you can imagine. Many people expect God to communicate to them in a particular way; through an audible voice, or dreams, or prophecy, they try to limit God, and so they end up missing out when God communicates.
Other people fail to believe they can hear God. They lack faith that they can really hear God. If you're like this, it'll be difficult for you to really hear Him, simply because you don't believe you can. You must understand and believe that you're perfectly able to hear God when He reveals Himself to you. Don't doubt your ability to hear Him.
Next, you must sincerely seek to hear Him. Many people don't really care or bother about what God has to say. If you don't value His Word, He won't let you know Him. Be open minded (don't limit God's communication ways), have faith (don't ever doubt your ability to hear God), value and desire His voice. If you do these, the voice of God will never be far from you.
Have you really submitted your life to Jesus Christ? If no, say this prayer now. "Dear God, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I realise I've been wrong all this while. I am sorry. I accept you as my Lord, and I believe Jesus Christ died and rose for me. I declare that He's Lord of my life. I receive eternal life today. I receive your Spirit into me. Thank you Lord for salvation." Congratulations you're born again. Do well to reach us. Remain on the Word and in prayers. You're blessed. -TCF
